Portraits are a captured moment in time, a memory to be shared with others for generations. Sometimes all you want is a snapshot of an event, of that memory, that you can put into a photo album to share with others or to take you back in time. That is the power of photography.
Then there are the times you want more than a snapshot, something more than Uncle Bill or cousin Sue can take. You want a portrait created that will last a life time and that can be shared for generations. You want a portrait that can only be created by a professional photographer.
John will work with you to create the portrait you want, whether it is in the studio or on location, John has the skill and equipment to cover both. Let John help you create, and capture, a memory to last a life time.
I am a Colorado Native who transplanted himself to Minnesota along with my wife, three dogs, and our cat. We moved to Buffalo, MN because we loved the town and area; close enough to the Twin Cities but far enough away to enjoy a quite life.
I always enjoyed taking photos as a kid but I was truly bitten by the photography bug in the mid-1980 when I purchase my first SLR camera, a Canon AE-1. It wasn't until I went back to college around 2009 to get an associates degree in Photography that I had any idea how powerful of a tool photography was or how to really use it. Every time I pick up my camera to take an image, whether it is my digital SLR or my camera phone, I try to make a photograph instead of just taking a picture. With my camera phone I am not always successful.
My passion is classic and creative portraiture, but I also capture other images as seen in my other galleries. I also love abstract art and I have dabbled in Acrylic Paint pouring. There is a certain freedom this process allows, along with the idea that nobody sees the same thing in the same abstract image.
I hope you have a great day.
